This mid-sized painting was inspired by fire scene in the film version of "Memiors of a Geisha," as well as the "Wanton Futon" show at Heaven Gallery in 2003 where the artist, in a silk brocade costume (created by Vincent Haq-Mastrioni) inspired by Female Icons from East and West, created an ensemble performance referencing great female historical figures. It is both modified self-portait and psychological snapshot of a woman who rebels against the rules, and is in the private collection of the lovely Elena Lyons-Cardone and her husband, real estate mogul, Grant Cardone.
