Ms. Cue's ongoing fascination with female icons spans the icons of antiquity to contemporary pop culture goddess, Madonna. Moira was deeply honored to present the following panel to Madonna, and is grateful to talent manager Bruce Edwin for making the exchange possible. The image is a young girl, on the cusp of womanhood, with a symbolic hibiscus flower in her hair, which covers one eye. The background is a bronze encaustic, which is made by mixing wax with metallic pigments.
